Our Kansas City, Missouri location is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring that orders are processed accurately and dispatched efficiently. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipments, documenting outgoing packages, and coordinating with carriers. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to safety are essential. You will work in a dynamic warehouse environment, requiring physical stamina and attention to detail. We maintain a high standard for safety, expecting all employees to use appropriate PPE and follow all safety regulations. Responsibilities:
- Accurately process and prepare outgoing shipments, including verifying order details and product information.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation for various carriers.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for timely pickups and deliveries.
- Inspect outgoing packages for proper packaging and labeling.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Ensure the shipping area is organized and clean, adhering to safety standards.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Must be able to perform lifting of up to 40 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform necessary lifting.
