Job Summary:
A prominent logistics company in San Diego, California, is looking for a skilled Material Handler to manage the flow of goods within our distribution center. This role is critical to our operations, ensuring that materials are moved, organized, and prepared for distribution efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, detail-oriented, and possess experience operating various material handling equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production lines, and ensuring timely movement of products. Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Move materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Assist with inventory control and cycle counts.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Use appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Follow all procedures related to the handling and storage of materials.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role is required.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks.
  • Ability to perform heavy Lifting, up to 50 lbs, regularly.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and coordination.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts if needed.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and basic maintenance of equipment.
  • Commitment to workplace Safety and the correct use of PPE.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with a diverse team in a logistics setting.
