About
Join our bustling logistics hub in St. Louis, Missouri, as a Shipping Clerk! We are looking for an organized and efficient individual to manage the outgoing shipments from our distribution center. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing shipping documents, verifying order accuracy, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring all shipments leave on time and are correctly accounted for. This role is critical to maintaining the seamless flow of goods to our customers. You will be an integral part of our operations, ensuring that every package is processed with precision. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to safety are essential. We emphasize a secure and productive work environment, requiring all employees to utilize appropriate PPE. Responsibilities:
- Accurately preparing and processing shipping labels and documentation (e.g., bills of lading, packing slips).
- Verifying the contents of outgoing shipments against order details.
- Coordinating with various shipping carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, freight).
- Scheduling and tracking shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Communicating with internal teams (e.g., warehouse, customer service) regarding shipping status.
- Maintaining organized shipping records and filing systems.
- Operating shipping equipment, such as pallet jacks and scanners.
- Ensuring the proper packaging and labeling of all outgoing items.
- Adhering to all company safety guidelines, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assisting with other warehouse duties as needed, including some lifting.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a shipping clerk or in a similar administrative/warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and computer systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Familiarity with logistics and shipping procedures.
- Willingness to follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
- Capability for some lifting of packages.
