Order and Inventory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Order and Inventory Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for purchasing and replenishing food for preparation through proper buying procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchase and maintain accurate inventory levels of all products.
  • Monitor and act upon open PO reports for both purchases and credits in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Control spoilage and shrink, achieving turn goals and participating in regular inventory checks.
  • Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
  • Assist with counter service and cooking duties as scheduled or necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with the Kitchen Manager/Chef and Team Leader on ordering needs and issues.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with vendors.
  • Work with the Team Leader or Assistant Team Leader(s) to optimize recipes and improve sales.
  • Oversee customer special order procedures.
  • Support leadership in conducting inventories and providing data-driven insights.
  • Maximize sales potential through effective prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising techniques.
  • Adhere to established safety protocols, including Weights and Measures, health, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment, ensuring equipment is properly maintained and adhering to WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, verifying accuracy of signs and pricing.
  • Report any safety hazards or violations immediately.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
  • Basic math skills and ability to count money.
  • Availability to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
