Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure a fresh and appealing display by checking quality, maintaining clean cases and shelves, rotating products, filling ice tables, and performing other assigned duties.
- Maintain accurate department signage and pricing.
- Keep back stock organized and well-maintained.
- Contribute to a safe, clean, and well-organized working and shopping environment.
- Assist with the sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean, and visually appealing.
- Clean various equipment, glass, signs, coolers, smokers, floors, and drains as needed.
- Prepare, skin, bone, cook, or smoke fish, box, label, and date cooked items.
- Participate in periodic inventory checks.
- Arrive at workstations on time, properly groomed, dressed, and ready to work; adhere to all scheduled shifts and attend required training sessions.
- Provide excellent customer service by promptly addressing customer needs and modeling suggestive selling techniques.
- Maximize sales potential through effective product preparation, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising procedures.
- Comply with established safety procedures and follow Weights and Measures guidelines, health and sanitation regulations, and safe work practices.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace and ensure that equipment meets WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
- Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned and verify accuracy of signs and pricing.
- Immediately report any safety hazards or violations.
- Carry out additional tasks assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.
- Ability to effectively communicate and sell products proactively.
- Capacity to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in the department.
- Visual examination skills for quality and freshness.
- Read labels and familiarize yourself with various products.
- Assist with inventory checks.
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to collaborate as part of a team.
- Deliver information clearly and respectfully to fellow colleagues, customers, and vendors.
- Meet high customer service expectations and maintain a professional image in all interactions.
- Effective time management, organization, and adherence to procedures.
