Electrical Design Engineer | Defence Company | London (Hybrid 2/3 days per week in the office) | Up to £75,000 | SC Clearance Eligibility Required MERITUS is partnered with an expanding Defence Electrical Manufacturing Company based in London and is looking for Electrical Design Engineers to join their team. The organisation focuses on the design and production of electrical control panels.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of electrical systems that meet stringent defence and industry standards. This is a hands‑on engineering role requiring strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence in a regulated environment.
Due to project requirements, candidates need to be eligible for SC Security Clearance.
Main Responsibilities
Design and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts in accordance with project specifications and defence standards.
Collaborate with mechanical, software, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
Prepare technical documentation, BOMs, and test procedures to support manufacturing and quality assurance.
Provide engineering support during assembly, testing, and commissioning phases to resolve design or technical issues.
Required Skills
Proven experience in electrical design for control panels or similar industrial systems.
Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
Strong understanding of electrical standards and regulations (e.g., BS EN, DEF‑STAN, or IEC standards).
Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced, defence‑focused environment.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary up to £75,000.
25 days holiday + bank holidays.

Hybrid/flexible working model (2/3 days per week in the office).
