Abrasive Technology is looking for a
Quality Assurance Technician
to join our growing UK team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong eye for detail, a passion for quality, and experience working within a manufacturing environment.
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring our products meet internal standards, customer requirements, and industry certifications. You will work closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to support continuous improvement and maintain our high standards of performance.
What you’ll be doing Inspection and Testing
Carry out inspection and testing of incoming materials, in-process operations, and finished products.
Use a range of inspection and measurement equipment, including callipers, micrometres, gauges, microscopes, and CMMs, to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Perform functional testing to confirm products meet required performance standards.
Documentation and Quality Records
Accurately record inspection and test results on routers, Certificates of Conformance (CoCs), and within quality management systems.
Prepare inspection and test reports as required.
Raise non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and support disposition and release activities.
Assist with maintaining calibration and traceability records for inspection and test equipment.
Compliance and Audits
Ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer specifications, and recognised standards such as AS9100, Nadcap, and ISO 9001.
Support internal, customer, and third‑party audits and help maintain certification requirements.
Identify quality issues and work collaboratively with Production and Engineering to investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, reducing waste, and strengthening quality performance.
Collaboration and Training
Work closely with colleagues across Production, Engineering, and Management to resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
Support training activities related to quality procedures, work instructions, and customer requirements.
What we’re looking for
Experience in a quality, inspection, or manufacturing support role within a regulated environment.
Good understanding of manufacturing processes, metrology, and inspection techniques.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Strong attention to detail with good written and verbal communication skills.
Confident working as part of a team and able to take a proactive approach to problem solving.
Experience with quality management systems and basic statistical or data analysis tools is desirable.
Previous involvement in internal or external audits would be an advantage.
