About

The Sales Field Engineer will be responsible for driving sales growth of custom and standard cable assembly solutions within an assigned territory. This role combines technical expertise with customer relationship management to identify opportunities, provide technical guidance, and deliver tailored interconnect solutions for OEM, industrial, and technology clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development
Develop and execute a territory sales plan to achieve revenue and margin targets.
Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities for cable assemblies and related interconnect products.
Maintain and grow existing accounts through regular visits, technical presentations, and responsive support.
Technical Support & Application Engineering
Understand customer design requirements and translate them into feasible cable assembly solutions.
Provide technical advice on connectors, harness configurations, shielding, materials, and assembly methods.
Coordinate with design engineers to support prototype builds and design validation.
Troubleshoot customer issues and provide post-sales technical support when required.
Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies in interconnect systems.
Report customer feedback and product improvement ideas to the engineering and product management teams.
Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and technical seminars.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience) preferred but not essential.
Experience:
3–7 years of technical sales experience in cable assemblies, wire harnesses, or interconnect products.
Proven track record in field sales, business development, or technical account management.
Experience working with OEMs in sectors such as aerospace, defense, automotive, medical devices, or telecommunications preferred.
Skills:
Strong technical understanding of cable assembly design, materials, connectors, and manufacturing processes.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Other Requirements:
Willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
