About
We are looking for a diligent Material Handler to join our warehouse operations in Des Moines, Iowa. This role involves the movement, storage, and tracking of materials and products throughout the facility. You will be responsible for operating various types of material handling equipment, ensuring that goods are stored safely and efficiently, and supporting the overall logistics flow. A strong commitment to safety and operational excellence is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming inventory.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage locations.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Ensure all materials are handled according to safety procedures and guidelines.
- Maintain equipment in good working condition and report any issues.
- Support the logistics team with timely movement of goods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
- Valid forklift certification is preferred.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 60 pounds).
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Excellent physical condition and stamina.
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Commitment to wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
This position is key to our warehouse's logistics. A strong emphasis on safety and the correct use of PPE is mandatory. You will be vital in ensuring the smooth flow of materials within our logistics hub.
