We are hiring an experienced Forklift Operator for our warehouse in Madison, Wisconsin. In this critical role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move, load, unload, and stack materials within the facility. Your duties will extend to assisting with inventory management, ensuring proper placement of goods, and maintaining a clean and orderly work area. This position demands precision, a strong commitment to safety, and excellent situational awareness. You will be an integral part of our logistics team, contributing to the smooth operation of our supply chain. Adherence to all company safety policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. This role involves significant physical demands beyond operating the forklift, including regular lifting.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Move, stack, and organize inventory within the warehouse.
- Inspect equipment before and after use, reporting any issues.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stock checks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Perform tasks including lifting items up to 50 pounds as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent knowledge of warehouse safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with logistics and warehouse management systems.
