We are currently seeking a Principal/ Senior HV Plant Engineer in our Energy Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects across technical disciplines with clients across the country. Projects can include HVDC, interconnectors, windfarms, substations, OHL, geotechnical solutions, building design, protection systems, LVAC, FEED, new builds, refurbishment works, connection schemes, etc.
The role involves working as part of the HV team for electrical substation design projects. You will work closely with other disciplines, supporting/leading FEED design and detailed design for substation refurbishment/extensions and new‑build projects. Ideally you will have experience working with key T&D clients in the UK.
You will be joining a growing, collaborative team, working in partnership with a variety of clients to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to industry‑wide efficiency and environmental challenges. This position plays a key part in the U.K. energy transition.
About You
Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience as HV Substation / Primary Plant Design Engineer.
Overall experience in design and specification production for HV Substation plant electrical power systems and associated power system components.
Knowledge of P&C aspects is preferable.
Pro‑active, able to coach and work within the wider energy team.
Engaged in the engineering community and understands innovative solutions and industry best practices.
Enjoys sharing knowledge, promoting ideas, and valuing contributions of all team members.
Willingness to learn; a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related technical field is acceptable for those from other industries.
