An award-winning electronics manufacturer in South Wales is currently looking to strengthen its research and development department with the key acquisition of a Mechanical Design Engineer. With investment secured for the next 5 years, this company is in a leading position to capitalise on the market growth. The business has a healthy order book and exciting development plans making it an excellent time to join the company.
Role & Responsibilities Responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems, components, and products. This includes creating innovative design concepts, modeling with CAD software, and overseeing the prototyping and testing.
Create mechanical design concepts and produce detailed 3D models and technical drawings for components and assemblies using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).
Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, and design manuals
Conduct and oversee when required product verification and validation activities
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in mechanical design, preferably within the electronic, medical device or a highly regulated industry.
High level of proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
