Spearheading the JRL Group from the outset, J Reddington Ltd has been an industry‑leading groundwork and concrete frame specialist for over two decades. Building on a proven track record to date, the company is now increasingly being called upon to deliver solutions on large projects in London and the South East. We are looking to recruit a design manager with responsibility for the concrete frame and ground works elements of JRL Group projects based in Borehamwood.
Qualifications
A highly motivated individual looking for a challenging career within the construction industry
Some knowledge of concrete frame construction
Ability to read engineers structural drawings, architect, façade and MEP drawings
Good skills in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office
Communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent organizational skills
Fluent English language skills are required
Be able to work as part of a team or on own initiative when required
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Possess or working towards Civil/Structural Engineering qualification
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the structural engineering design from project commencement through to completion
Lead technical workshops with relevant consultants and internal supply chain, monitor tasks to ensure they are closed out
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architecture, geotechnical, façade and MEP
Plan and implement innovative solutions contributing to safe systems of work
Plan the construction activities and prepare an information release schedule to ensure the timely supply of construction information
Ensure timely and accurate completion of drawings to comply with project requirements
Report any blockers or late information to the relevant stakeholders
Ensure designs such as temporary works are code compliant and incorporated with the permanent works
Provide technical support during construction, including site inspections and solutions for NCRs
Review and comment on specialist subcontractor information where necessary
Prepare technical reports and submittals
