Our client, a leader in the built environment for 40 years, is looking for a Security Systems Design Architect to join their dynamic team in Central London.
In this role, you will transform initial tender concepts into fully developed on‑site security solutions. Reporting to the Design Manager, you will act as a technical authority in electronic security system design, ensuring systems meet high standards of functionality, compliance, and integration.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed security system designs including CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, intercoms, and perimeter detection; prepare bills of materials (BOMs), labour estimates, RFIs, variation costings, and technical submittals.
Attend client meetings, workshops, and post‑tender presentations; define client requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and serve as a subject‑matter expert throughout the project delivery cycle.
Collaborate closely with internal teams (bids, procurement, delivery) and stay current with latest technology by liaising with manufacturers and suppliers.
Create and update all relevant technical and commercial documentation.
Mentor and guide junior team members.
Requirements
Proven experience in a security systems design role, particularly in smart building environments.
Strong working knowledge of one or more manufacturers such as Axis, Avigilon, Milestone, Ccure, Gallagher, Genetec, CEM, Honeywell, Zenitel, and Commend.
A track record in enterprise, data centre, and commercial campus projects.
Certifications with key security system manufacturers.
Knowledge of audio‑visual, ICT infrastructure, IoT, and network architecture is desirable.
