Senior Pressure Vessel Design Engineer Location: Thatcham, Berkshire
Contract: 5-month contract | Outside IR35
Start: ASAP
We are supporting a specialist engineering business delivering a UK MOD programme and are seeking an experienced Pressure Vessel Design Engineer to support the contract design phase and close out an active project, with strong potential for follow‑on work.
The Role Working with a team of Design Engineers, you will produce and review technical documentation to substantiate pressure vessel and filtration designs in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Produce design substantiation and verification documentation
Prepare technical reports including compliance matrices, FMEA, human factors, and maintenance documentation
Support transition from design to manufacturing
Review drawings, calculations, and documentation produced by other engineers
Maintain engineering records and document control
Deliver work in line with project schedules and estimated hours
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
5+ years' experience in regulated environments (defence, nuclear, etc.)
Strong pressure vessel design knowledge and calculation review experience
Proven technical report writing and compliance documentation experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office
UK passport required for security clearance
Desirable
AutoCAD and Inventor experience
PV Elite or Code Calc knowledge
Contract Details
Outside IR35
