We are seeking a
Mechanical Design Engineer
based in
Banbridge
to be part of our growing team.
Key Responsibilities
Design, plan and co-ordinate mechanical project delivery
Provide input on design strategy and conceptual design on mechanical installations.
Undertake design calculations for the design of mechanical installations within major building projects.
Design mechanical installations including the production of design drawings and diagrams, to British Standards, Building Regulations and other relevant standards and to meet requirements for energy efficiency and low carbon.
Participate in design team meetings, technical workshops, and contribute to the preparation of key project documents (e.g., Engineering Reports, Basis of Design).
Prepare specifications and design stage reports.
Ensure compliance with current legislation, relevant planning and health and safety regulations as well as best practice.
Manage client approvals of our design to achieve signed off construction drawings
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams - mechanical, BIM, and external contractors - to produce coordinated MEP designs.
Qualification
Degree in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Experience & Knowledge
Basic understanding of M&E systems and relevant sector standards.
1-2 years of practical experience working as a Mechanical Design Engineer within building services.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD for design and coordination tasks.
Abilities & Skills
Good organisational skills, ability to work within a team and on your own initiative.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general ICT tools.
Strong attention to detail
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and professional development.
Excellent organisation skills with ability to meet deadlines.
