Experienced Electrical Design Engineer (Switchgear) – Dungannon, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom Salary: £35,000.00 - £40,000.00 (British Pound Sterling) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday Our client is a successful electrical manufacturing business specialising in motor control centres, low voltage switchgear, transfer switches, and PDUs. They design and manufacture LV switchgear and control equipment and offer total solutions as a one-stop engineering shop. We are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Switchgear Design Engineer to join their manufacturing team in Dungannon, Co Tyrone. Responsibilities
Assemble document packages and develop drawing sets for review by the Production Manager for low voltage switchgear products. Liaise with Sales Director on tender drawings. Prepare detailed electrical schematics for switchgear and general arrangement layout drawings. Prepare electrical bills of materials. Interact with customers/consultants, mechanical engineering, automation personnel, and other staff to resolve identified issues. Contribute to continuous product improvement. Electrical engineering with a bias toward switchgear and motor control systems. Requirements
Degree qualification in electrical engineering or equivalent (not essential; those from a technical background who fit the profile will be considered). Knowledge of modular steel work systems (e.g., Cubic, Elsteel). Knowledge of Schneider and ABB LV product ranges. Experience in LV design and manufacture of switchgear up to 6300 Amps. Experience with SolidWorks Electrical or equivalent electrical design software (IGE/ XAO). Experience with switchgear design to IEC/UL product standards is advantageous but not essential. 2D and/or 3D software experience. Microsoft Office proficiency. Excellent communication skills and professional, detail-oriented work approach. Good team player, self-starter, able to work with minimal guidance. Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
