Join our engineering team and play a pivotal role in the Security Data and AI Lab, where you’ll help shape the Group’s cloud strategy and drive innovation through advanced data and AI solutions. By leveraging cutting-edge cloud infrastructure, your contributions will have a direct impact on our product operations, unlocking significant opportunities to enhance customer service and propel business growth. The ideal candidate will have expertise with cloud platforms and a solid background in implementing and managing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Day to day responsibilities include:
Develop, deploy, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline application development and deployment processes.
Compose, implement, and oversee scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
Automate recurring processes to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Work closely with development, operations, and product teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of applications.
Engage with the team Product Owner and other leadership team members in crafting and solutioning products for customers
Monitor delivery pipeline performance, solve issues, and optimise to ensure high availability.
Enforce security protocols and uphold compliance standards throughout the cloud environment.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure configurations, deployment processes, and operational procedures
Promote and support Agile methodologies, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Act as a lead engineer for more junior DevOps engineers on the team, being a point of contact for referral and mentoring
Generally, support the growth of a strong team by mentoring early career engineers and building a network across the DevOps community.
In addition, any experience of these would be useful:
Knowledge of Kubeflow deployments or experience delivering platforms built for AI use cases e.g. through Vertex AI
Experience migrating capabilities from one cloud platform to another
Understanding and experience using vault capabilities
What you’ll need
Demonstrated expertise in DevOps engineering.
Proficiency in working with CI/CD tools including Spinnaker, Jenkins, Harness, Terraform, GitHub, Docker or similar.
Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, or Bash.
Practical experience with automation tools and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) platforms (e.g., Terraform).
Familiarity with cloud services, particularly GCP
Demonstrated background in containerisation and orchestration with Kubernetes experience and knowledge a must-have
Knowledge of constructing secure systems while following enterprise security and compliance guidelines.
Solid teamwork abilities, capable of persuading and coordinating varied teams towards a common goal.
Knowledge of artefact repositories and their role in software delivery.
Knowledge of Monitoring and Observability tooling (e.g., Datadog, Dynatrace).
Proactive individual capable of working autonomously, advancing various development projects simultaneously.
In addition, any experience in the following would be useful:
