The Role We are seeking a passionate and skilled
Mechanical Design Engineer
to join our dynamic design engineering team. This role is pivotal in driving innovation through the development of custom and modified designs, supporting our product roadmap, and maintaining our existing product range.
Main Responsibilities
Development of mechanical concepts and designs to meet customer and internal requirements
Modification and enhancement of existing designs
Design of sheet metal parts, wire looms, and 3D printed components
Drafting general assembly drawings using 3D CAD tools
Documentation of design work
Conducting product safety assessments and liaising with approval bodies

Proficient in technical/mechanical drawing
Skilled in 2D/3D CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, Fusion360)
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prepare technical documentation
Strong IT skills
Capable of liaising with colleagues, suppliers, and customers at all levels
Organised, proactive, and able to anticipate problems
What we are looking for
Degree or HNC in Mechanical Engineering
Proven experience using Inventor and AutoCAD
Demonstrated ability to design sheet metal enclosures
What we offer Pay range: £30,000 -£40,000 annually - Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements.
Working Hours We are currently
trialling a condensed working week
in this department, with hours spread across
Monday to Thursday , offering a longer weekend and enhanced work-life balance.
