About the Employer My client specialises in automation within the manufacturing sector and is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in the Worcester area.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the design and development of various automation solutions
Use Inventor 3D CAD software on a day‑to‑day basis
Develop ideas from concept to production
Liaise with clients and develop solutions for design specifications
Collaborate with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
Maintain technical drawings and documentation
Provide technical guidance and support
Support product testing, verification, and validation
Required Qualifications
HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or related field
At least 3 years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency with 3D CAD tools: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor or similar
Knowledge of automated systems, conveyors, SPM, etc.
Ability to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets
Experience working to customer specifications and altering designs based on requirements
Skill in maintaining technical documentation and BOM entry
Knowledge of different materials such as sheet metal fabrication
Innovative, accurate, and passionate about design
Technically minded with strong problem‑solving skills
Excellent leadership and organisational skills
Ability to work well individually and as part of a team
