About

Join GMV’s space activities in Nottingham or Oxford and become part of a team developing operational systems for satellite mission management. You’ll contribute to the evolution and modernization of backend and front‑end platforms that support the daily operation of satellites, including data exchange, processing and archiving and system health monitoring.
Backend Software Engineer (C# + Java)
– support mission‑operational software for international space agencies and leading aerospace clients.

Responsibilities
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and collaborative development environments
Migrate and refactor legacy code into microservices
Occasionally assist with JavaScript‑based front‑end tasks
Document solutions and follow defined processes
Ensure code quality and stability in production environments
Qualifications
Proven experience in C# and .NET development
Strong background in Java, especially in maintaining and updating existing code
Basic to intermediate knowledge of JavaScript for occasional front‑end tasks
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Understanding of microservices architecture
Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git) and collaborative development environments
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
Soft skills: continuous learning mindset, attention to detail, organization, team‑oriented attitude, accountability, proactive ownership of tasks
Experience with Agile methodologies
Preferred Experience
Experience with RabbitMQ or other messaging systems
Database skills (SQL or NoSQL)
Familiarity with Agile methodologies
