Overview By joining the Regulatory and NBAP (New Business Approval) Operations team, you will play a key role in the design, build and support of regulatory components and solutions in RWEST’s ETRM system OpenLink Endur, to ensure our compliance with energy trading regulations. As a Software Developer you will be responsible for developing the solutions in close collaboration with the business users and with the support of a great IT team.
Responsibilities
Work in an agile model and take responsibility for business‑critical applications and processes in the Regulatory and NBAP Operations Team.
Learn about energy/commodity trading covering multiple jurisdictions globally and the regulatory obligations applicable to RWEST.
Interact closely with teams across IT and the business (e.g. Risk, Back Office, Front Office) to understand new regulatory requirements, evaluate options and implement solutions.
Contribute to building high‑quality software and processes by implementing robust, efficient solutions.
Communicate progress to stakeholders, end users and to the team.
Think creatively to ensure immediate business goals are satisfied while also achieving long‑term success of the solution. Continuously seek improvement opportunities and ways to reduce technical debt.
Work collaboratively with the team to ensure RWEST remains compliant and supportive of new trading opportunities.
Qualifications
Solid experience in Java/JVS and SQL.
Knowledge of Endur or similar ETRM systems.
Self‑starter with strong analytical skills and a track record of complex problem‑solving. High degree of personal commitment, motivation and positive attitude.
Ability to work independently with resilience to perform in a dynamic and challenging business environment.
Proactive attitude and willingness to learn and understand technical and business reasoning.
Experience with relational and document databases.
Good knowledge of software development best practice, including Continuous Integration.
Additional Desirable Skills
Understanding of energy trading & regulations.
Experience in Endur configuration, development and trade modelling.
Practical experience using Agile methodologies.
Experience with AWS / Cloud technologies.
