Job Overview We’re looking for a talented Business Analyst to join our regulatory organisation as we expand into an exciting new area of oversight. This is your chance to play a key role in designing and delivering projects that will have a real impact on public safety and industry standards. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation and the industry to understand business needs, analyse processes, and translate requirements into clear, actionable solutions. From supporting technical initiatives and process design to helping define regulatory frameworks, your work will directly influence how the organisation operates and how the public is protected.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Project Managers, Testers, and other specialists to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.
Analyse processes and propose solutions that shape innovative outcomes and meet strategic objectives.
Guide decision‑making, shape solutions, and ensure every initiative meets its strategic objectives.
Qualifications
Proven experience leading complex business analysis activities to understand organisational needs, define scope, and identify opportunities for digital and process improvement.
Demonstrable experience in gathering, documenting, and managing business and functional requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and delivery outcomes.
Experience analysing and redesigning business processes to improve efficiency, eliminate waste, and enable digital transformation or automation.
Strong background in building and maintaining productive relationships with a range of stakeholders, facilitating workshops, and achieving consensus on priorities and outcomes.
Practical experience working within Agile and Waterfall delivery environments, contributing to iterative development, backlog management, and multidisciplinary team collaboration.
Evidence of taking ownership of complex business problems, conducting root cause analysis, and delivering practical, evidence‑based solutions that meet organisational goals.
Skilled in business process modelling, data analysis, and developing actionable insights.
Desirable Skills
Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Miro, Lucidchart, Power BI, or BPMN.
Professional certification such as CBAP, PMI‑PBA, Agile BA, or Lean Six Sigma.

Application Process After submission of the first stage of your application, you will be invited to complete a Civil Service Judgment Test. If you successfully pass the test, you will be invited to complete the final stage of the application. Please complete the online test as soon as possible; the closing date for the test is 23:55 on 12th January 2026. Failure to complete the online test before the deadline will result in withdrawal of your application.
Test administration: The online test supplier will be performing scheduled maintenance between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm on 04/01/2026. Candidates taking the test when the downtime starts will have their test paused and can resume after 7:00 pm. Candidates will not be able to launch new tests during this time.
Sift and interview dates:
Sift will take place from 13th January 2026
First‑stage telephone interviews on 27th January 2026
Second‑stage MS Teams interviews on 3rd February 2026; candidates will be required to prepare a presentation.
