LOCATION: Salford - Hybrid
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £40,000 - £50,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Please note:
This is a shift-based role, with some early (0700) starts and late (2200) finishes. The role will include some weekend shifts (around 1 in 4).
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE Join the team behind one of the UK’s most visited media websites. As a Senior Content Producer for the BBC’s UK Homepage, you’ll be curating the BBC’s best and most topical content -- from major news and sports moments to Glastonbury and Strictly -- into a compelling daily experience. You’ll play a key role in shaping how millions discover stories that matter, bringing editorial judgement, creativity, and data insight to marquee events and everyday journeys alike.

The Homepage showcases the BBC at its best and you will work with teams in every part of the BBC to help shape how millions experience it daily. As a Senior Content Producer, you’ll contribute to the team’s editorial strategy and culture, with opportunities to lead, grow and influence in a fast‑paced, high‑impact environment.
Key Responsibilities and Impact
Create and deliver distinctive promotional content that resonates with diverse audiences.
Lead and motivate a team, ensuring clarity of vision and excellence from planning to delivery.
Manage projects effectively, including schedules and tests.
Build strong relationships with internal teams and partners.
Drive innovation and seek improvements in production processes for greater efficiency.
Contribute to departmental strategy and deputise for senior team members when required.
Ensure compliance with editorial, legal, and safety guidelines.
Essential Criteria Your Skills and Experience
Proven experience producing and delivering promotional digital content.
Digital curation skills, backed by outstanding editorial judgment.
Excellent organisational skills—able to juggle multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
Skilled communicator and negotiator, confident working with internal and external stakeholders.
Solid understanding of digital production processes, especially content curation, and content scheduling.
Desired But Not Required
Familiarity with BBC editorial guidelines and compliance policies.
Knowledge of emerging industry trends and new production technologies.
Understanding of diverse audience needs and how to shape content accordingly.
Strong production leadership skills with the ability to inspire creativity and manage team performance.
