We are seeking an experienced
Technical Lead
to oversee outsourced hardware design and integration activities, including the development of custom ASICs and high-performance network interface cards. You will be responsible for leading the definition, specification closure, design reviews, and verification of complex hardware systems, ensuring seamless integration into advanced photonics-based equipment platforms. This role demands strong technical direction, supplier management, and program/risk oversight in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design of highly complex custom integrated circuits (ICs) for advanced photonics modules targeting data centre applications.
Provide technical leadership and oversight for outsourced design partners, ensuring alignment with system-level requirements and delivery milestones.
Define and close hardware specifications; manage and participate in design reviews; approve technical deliverables.
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for hardware validation, verification, and system integration.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues at both board and system levels.
Manage supplier relationships and support hardware bring‑up and production readiness.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including electrical, RF, mechanical, and software engineers to ensure seamless system integration.
Maintain detailed documentation of application requirements, test procedures, and design changes.
Drive risk management, change control, and issue resolution throughout the hardware development lifecycle.
Skills & Experience
10+ years of experience in hardware integration, preferably within RF, photonics, or optical systems.
Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, signal processing, and control loop design.
Deep knowledge of high‑speed ADC and DAC specifications for hardware control.
Proven ability to produce high‑quality technical documentation.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
