Lead Electrical Design Engineer
Overview Our in‑house Design team is looking for a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join our office in Basingstoke. You will take on a fully supported leading role in all aspects of projects, from scoping and detailed design through to implementation, ensuring compliance with client specifications and current regulatory standards, with a strong focus on low‑carbon solutions.
Key Duties
Meet with clients to discuss specific intervention requirements.
Take the EICA lead on development of bids and proposals for new projects or strategic frameworks.
Plan and implement projects in association with Delivery Management teams.
Line‑manage and develop assigned EICA staff within your team.
Lead the development of EICA design deliverables by your team and for the EICA activities within the business stream.
Provide technical guidance on EICA matters to the wider project team and Senior Management.
Help RSE maintain our position as the contractor of choice for key clients.
Mentor, identify and develop the next generation of EICA engineering talent.
Continuously drive and shape RSE’s journey towards Net Zero.
Requirements
Degree/HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Professional registration with IET, InstMC or similar (IEng, CEng).
Full UK driving licence.
A passion to succeed and develop your career.
A well‑developed knowledge of British and European design standards.
Proven management capability covering all aspects of project development, design, construction and commissioning.
Pre‑construction design and cost evaluation knowledge and experience.
Analytical and problem‑solving capabilities to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
