About
We are seeking a
Functional Business Analyst
to join the Core Build phase of a major Global ERP Development Project. This role is pivotal in supporting the build, configuration, and quality assurance of global finance processes to establish a robust
D365 Gold Build environment.
Reporting to the Finance Global Process Lead, you will validate build configurations and serve as a key member of the finance team. You will drive decision-making through configuration and QA workshops, ensuring processes are delivered effectively for subsequent phases. You will coordinate closely with Global Process Owners (GPOs) across Finance, Cross-Functional teams (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales), and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to deliver aligned, optimized solutions.
Key Responsibilities Core Build Support
Configuration:
Collaborate on the configuration of finance processes within the D365 Gold Build.
Design Documentation:
Support the creation and review of Functional & Integration Design Documents (FDDs/IDDs).
Workshops:
actively participate in configuration workshops, Conference Room Pilot sessions, and system walkthroughs.
Tracking:
Monitor configuration items, referential data, and master data requirements.
Quality Assurance & Testing
QA Support:
Support testing of business journeys, specifically featuring taxonomies such as
R2R, Q2C, and R2P .
Test Scenarios:
Assist in developing and reviewing test scenarios and scripts.
Defect Management:
Track and report defects and gaps identified during QA cycles.
Stakeholder Engagement & Alignment
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work with Business Unit GPOs to link process standardization while respecting unique local or regulatory requirements.
Requirement Gathering:
Communicate with GPOs, SMEs, and project teams to gather requirements and validate configurations.
Expectation Management:
Proactively communicate and manage expectations regarding process changes.
Bridge Role:
Serve as the vital link between implementation partners, GPOs, and SMEs to ensure readiness for implementation.
Governance, Data & Controls
Dependencies:
Contribute to workshops identifying finance gaps, ISV/3rd party solutions, and system dependencies.
Internal Controls:
Support the documentation of controls (G3, RACM, SoD).
Data Frameworks:
Support the definition of data migration frameworks, reporting strategies, and catalogues.
Project Governance:
Work within the project framework to uphold objectives, group policies, and best practices.
Core Skills & Experience Essential Qualifications & Technical Skills
ERP Expertise:
Involvement in multiple lifecycle D365 programmes (ideally
D365 F&O ), covering design and implementation.
Finance Qualification:
A recognized accounting/finance qualification is required ( CIMA, ACCA, ACA ).
Process Knowledge:
Strong understanding of end-to-end finance processes (e.g., R2R, Q2C, R2P, Inventory, Costing) in a complex, multinational setting.
Compliance:
Familiarity with governance, internal control, and compliance frameworks (e.g.,
SOX ).
Translation Skills:
Ability to translate business requirements into standardized system processes.
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to convey complex technical ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Partner Experience:
Previous experience working with systems implementation partners.
Stakeholder Management:
A proven history of coordinating with stakeholders and cross‑functional teams at all levels.

Ability to assess and measure the business impacts of process changes.
Note on Scope:
Direct involvement in cutover, go‑live, hypercare, end‑user training, and localisation is
out of scope
for this specific phase of the project.
