About the Role As a Cloud Security Architect at Vectra AI you will serve as a trusted advisor and technical subject matter expert, enabling customers and partners to maximize the value of Vectra’s AI‑driven cloud security solutions. This overlay role focuses on pre‑sales engagement, technical solution design, and customer success enablement for cloud‑native hybrid and multi‑cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities Customer & Partner Engagement
Lead technical discussions, demos, and whiteboarding sessions with C‑level executives, architects, and engineers to showcase Vectra’s cloud security capabilities.
Act as the trusted advisor for cloud security architecture, compliance, and risk management strategies.
Partner with channel and cloud providers to identify and develop new customer opportunities.
Conduct technology reviews and findings workshops to align Vectra solutions with customer environments and business needs.
Pre‑Sales Solution Architecture
Design and present cloud security reference architectures integrating Vectra with native cloud controls and partner technologies.
Support proof‑of‑concepts (POCs) and pilots by driving technical success criteria and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Translate business requirements into secure, scalable cloud security solutions.
Collaborate with account executives to influence deals through deep technical engagement.
Thought Leadership & Competitive Expertise
Maintain deep expertise on AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud security services, including networking, workload protection, and container security.
Stay ahead of the cloud threat landscape by researching attacker techniques, new compliance frameworks, and cloud‑native trends (Zero Trust, CNAPP, CSPM, CWPP).
Provide competitive intelligence on cloud security vendors (e.g., Palo Alto, Prisma Cloud, SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender for Cloud).
Contribute to customer‑facing assets such as presentations, solution briefs, and integration guides.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with product management to provide field feedback on customer requirements and use cases.
Partner with engineering and support teams to ensure seamless customer onboarding and deployment success.
Participate in design reviews, release readiness meetings, and forecast calls to align go‑to‑market strategy.
Enablement & Evangelism
Deliver technical enablement sessions to internal teams, partners, and customers.
Represent Vectra at industry events, webinars, and security communities as a cloud security evangelist.
Mentor other Sales Engineers and contribute to Vectra’s growing cloud security practice.
Qualifications & Requirements
5 years of enterprise experience in cloud security pre‑sales engineering or solutions architecture.
2 years of hands‑on experience in incident detection, response, or cloud SOC operations.
Strong technical expertise across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
Extensive experience implementing, conducting, and troubleshooting technical Proof of Concept/Proof of Value in labs and live customer environments.
Deep hands‑on experience with automation/scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Terraform or CloudFormation).
Excellent understanding of cloud networking and security concepts, including cloud firewalls, traffic monitoring, intrusion detection, identity and access management, and workload/container protection.
Proven ability to work across multiple stakeholders (sales, product, engineering, partners).
Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence both technical and executive audiences.
Preferred Certifications
AWS Solutions Architect Professional
Azure Solutions Architect Expert / MCSE: Cloud Platform
Google Professional Cloud Architect
CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent cloud security certifications
Travel
Ability to travel as needed within theater (approx. 25‑35%).
