About
Responsibilities
Creation of CAD Models and Drawings: produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings to meet required standards.
Design Deliverables: ensure all design deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders during appropriate design phases to ensure coordination and functionality of design.
Project Support: contribute to and support the entire project and product design cycle, from concept to construction and installation.
Technical Support: provide technical support during the construction and installation phases.
Perform self‑verification of work.
Reporting of technical progress and issues to line management.
Be aware of and ensure that safety, health and environmental requirements are implemented.
Assist with the maintenance and improvement in quality standards of outputs.
Change embodiment.
Qualifications
Required to hold an NC/HNC or an equivalent qualification / experience in a related discipline.
Apprenticeship in a relevant discipline or relevant industry experience.
Essential Skills
Familiarity with shipbuilding/ship repair terminology and practices.
Proficient in the use of one or more parametric/spec‑driven CAD systems in both 3D and 2D environments.
Experience with FORAN.
Experience with Windchill.
Desired Skills
Preferable T26 experience.
Experience
Experience in design processes and procedures specifically within detail design (stage 2 modelling / stage 3 outputs), working on naval or commercial marine projects (preferably naval shipbuilding or new build/major conversion).
