About

Role Overview

The Technical Coordinator supports the Senior Pre-Opening Operations Manager in preparing new MML properties—restaurants, hotels, and mixed-use developments—for successful opening. This role bridges development, design, and operations, ensuring all owner-provided equipment, food service coordination, vendor deliverables, and operational readiness tasks are technically accurate, tracked, and executed on schedule.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where design, construction, and operations overlap.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination

  • Support the Senior Pre-Opening Operations Manager in managing technical documentation related to back-of-house design, equipment packages, and operational layouts.
  • Maintain and update pre-opening milestone trackers and critical path schedules in
  • coordination with the Development and Design teams.
  • Coordinate with consultants (MEP, food service, low-voltage, signage, etc.) to ensure
  • owner-provided scopes are integrated accurately into construction documentation.
  • Track all operational deliverables including kitchen equipment, smallwares, uniforms,
  • technology systems, and specialty vendors.
  • Assist with procurement documentation and logistics coordination for OSE (operating supplies & equipment).

Technical Review & Documentation

  • Review design and consultant drawings for alignment with operational needs (kitchen adjacencies, food service clearances, equipment power/water requirements, etc.).
  • Prepare and maintain technical logs, shop drawing reviews, and punch list items for owner-provided scopes.
  • Consolidate specifications, cut sheets, and submittals into organized reference packages for operations and facilities turnover.Operational Readiness
  • Assist in setting up back-of-house spaces prior to opening—inventory tagging, room organization, and coordination with facilities.
  • Support site walks, pre-punch reviews, and turnover documentation alongside the Senior Pre-Opening Operations Manager.
  • Communicate regularly with project managers, chefs, and facilities teams to ensure
  • alignment on readiness tasks.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in project coordination, architecture, food service design, or
  • hospitality operations.
  • Strong technical understanding of construction drawings, equipment layouts, and
  • specifications.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Smartsheet (or similar), and familiarity with reading plan sets (Revit,
  • AutoCAD, or Bluebeam).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented with ability to track multiple concurrent deliverables across
  • projects.
  • Hospitality or food service industry experience preferred.

Key Attributes

  • Organized and process-minded, but comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Strong collaborator who can interface between development, design, and operations.
  • Eager to learn and grow within a high-performing, fast-moving hospitality development team.
  • Naturally curious about how design, construction, and operations intersect to create exceptional guest experiences.
