Role Description We are seeking a Senior Consultant to join our growing Cyber Security for Safety (CSS) capability as part of the Digital Systems Assurance group. This role will involve leading the delivery of cyber security artefacts that support safety assurance in regulated safety‑critical environments. You will work across high‑profile programmes in all domains, applying your expertise to shape secure, resilient systems.
Responsibilities include integrating cyber security into safety‑critical systems and software assurance activities, embedding secure‑by‑design principles from concept to delivery, assessing and communicating risk, guiding teams, verifying documentation, and engaging directly with clients to mitigate cyber threats without compromising safety. Additional duties involve scoping and costing work, contributing to bids and proposals, mentoring junior consultants, and growing our CSS capability through strategic input.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of Cyber Security for Safety artefacts in line with standards such as DO‑326A, ED‑202A, and ED‑203A.
Conduct threat analysis, risk assessments, and define security requirements and architectures.

Integrate cyber security into safety‑critical software assurance activities (e.g. DO‑178C, DO‑254).
Support system and safety assessments aligned with ARP4754A, ARP4761, and DefStan 00‑970.
Engage with clients to understand needs, shape solutions, and influence programme outcomes.
Scope and cost technical work, and contribute to bids, proposals, and business development.
Mentor junior consultants and contribute to capability development.
Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and domains including aerospace, defence, and transport.
Essential Requirements
Practitioner‑level experience in DO‑326A and associated standards (DO‑356A, DO‑355).
EUROCAE Aircraft Cyber Security Training or equivalent.
Proven track record delivering cyber security artefacts in safety‑critical environments.
Experience in safety‑critical software assurance (e.g. IEC 61508, DO‑178C, DO‑254).
Familiarity with system and safety assessment standards (ARP4754A, ARP4761, DefStan 00‑970, DefStan 00‑55, DefStan 00‑56).
Understanding of broader cyber frameworks (e.g. ISO/IEC 27001/27005, NIST SP 800‑53/800‑160).
Strong consultancy experience, including scoping, costing, and proposal development.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience leading technical teams.
Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and organisations.
Due to the nature of the work that Frazer‑Nash Consultancy undertakes, candidates will be required to undergo pre‑employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
