Job Summary:
We are looking for a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This position is critical to ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and carrier requirements. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation, verifying shipment contents, scheduling carrier pickups, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong administrative skills, and a solid understanding of logistics operations. Experience with shipping software and a commitment to workplace safety, including the proper use of PPE, are essential. Your role is vital to the smooth functioning of our logistics department.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and process all shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs forms.
  • Verify the accuracy of orders being shipped against documentation.
  • Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
  • Track shipments and provide updates to relevant parties.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and files.
  • Ensure all shipments comply with company policies and transportation regulations.
  • Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures, including safe lifting practices and the correct use of PPE.
  • Assist with other shipping and receiving duties as needed to support logistics.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
  • Proficiency with shipping software and MS Office.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and logistics procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and use of PPE.
