UK Government Security Check (SC) clearance

Lead DevOps Engineer – Role Overview As Lead DevOps Engineer you will design, build, and maintain secure cloud environments that host data and batch/real‑time analytical platforms for public and private sector clients. You will leverage commercial and open‑source technologies to automate deployments, manage infrastructure, and support production operations.
Responsibilities
Build, test and deploy cloud‑based infrastructure and applications using CI/CD and Infrastructure‑as‑Code.
Contribute to the creation of custom test automation frameworks.
Maintain and update scripts in response to evolving requirements.
Set up and maintain environments for both manual and automated testing.
Investigate and resolve incidents in production support.
Perform routine application maintenance tasks.
Conduct gap analyses, identify viable solutions, and scope modifications.
Participate in contingency planning, including backup and restore procedures.
Document functions, changes to new or modified modules, and test activities/results.
Mentor and drive the team to deliver customer results.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent experience.
At least five of experience in a DevOps capacity.
Commercial experience deploying and operating infrastructure on AWS and other cloud environments.
Experience developing and operating with open‑source and commercial software in a cloud‑centric environment.
Server build and administration on Linux and Windows.
Proficiency with GitHub/GitLab for source control and code reviews.
Skilled with CI/CD and Infrastructure‑as‑Code technologies such as Terraform and Ansible.
Test‑driven development with appropriate tools and frameworks.
Experience with cloud orchestration and containerisation technologies, such as Kubernetes and Docker.
Knowledge of large‑scale databases and distributed technologies, such as RDS, Kafka, or similar event‑streaming platforms.
Strong Bash/Shell or Python scripting skills.
Demonstrated mentoring and leadership experience.
