Salary:
c£45k Basic doe.
Working pattern:
9 day working fortnight (weekdays).
Responsibilities
Design products from concept through to production release to a given specification, agreed timescales and to company Quality Management System (QMS).
Work within a multi-disciplined development team environment and use initiative to achieve the project requirements.
Create electrical schematic layout designs.
Generate detailed technical documentation (drawings, BOMs, manuals, etc.).
Generate comprehensive component specifications and designs.
Reduce product costs by re‑designing existing products.
Assist production/service engineers when requested.
Collaborate fully with production engineering on new product launch.
Design testing criteria.
Produce ECNs for design updates or changes.
Qualifications
Minimum HNC qualification in an Electrical Engineering discipline.
Proven electrical design experience in a manufacturing environment.
Competent to read and interpret electrical drawings/schematics and produce design calculations.
Willingness to work hands‑on to assist fault‑finding on electrical systems.
Knowledge of Electrical Design Software; ability to create/edit schematics and produce BOMs.
Understanding of PLC systems.
Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
Highly motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
