About

Our Role An exciting opportunity has arisen in our BCGB business for an Area Sales Manager reporting to our Head of Sales with national and international travel opportunities to company and customer sites throughout the GB and Nordic areas. This role is predominantly mobile actively supporting customers and potential customers at their location; there will be regular travel to the BCGB Bicester site so applicants will need to live within reasonable commuting distance of Oxfordshire. The role is a full time fixed term opportunity for 1 year.
As part of our team in the UK working alongside colleagues in Sweden and Denmark this role is dedicated to driving sales of rotating equipment solutions in the UK by actively seeking new customer connections and building new opportunity pipelines within the external market and championing long‑term customer relationships by serving as the trusted advisor and primary liaison.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Leadership & Strategic Engagement
Cultivate loyalty and drive value through proactive engagement deep client understanding and consistent delivery of impactful solutions.
Needs Analysis & Solution Ownership
Lead comprehensive assessments of client requirements and orchestrate tailored high‑impact solutions in close collaboration with cross‑functional teams in line with Company processes and with Safety Standards at the forefront.
Sales Cycle Command & Business Expansion
Own the full sales lifecycle - from lead generation to contract finalisation - ensuring a seamless customer‑centric experience. Uncover and capitalise on growth opportunities through market intelligence and strategic client dialogue.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Execution
Forge strong partnerships with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Product Development, Technical Support, Operations etc.) to guarantee flawless project execution and exceptional customer outcomes.
Account Strategy & Performance Optimisation
Architect and execute strategic account plans that align with both client ambitions and company objectives. Monitor account health rigorously resolve issues proactively and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Technical Presentations & Product Demonstrations
Deliver impactful presentations and demonstrations to showcase product capabilities and performance benefits. Represent the company at trade shows, customer workshops and technical forums.
Insightful Reporting & Forecasting
Deliver precise data‑driven reports on account performance, financial forecasts and strategic metrics. Translate insights into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
Issue Resolution & Case Ownership
Full ownership of customer concerns ensuring swift and effective resolution. Maintain transparent documentation and follow‑through via CRM systems to uphold service excellence.
Market Intelligence & Advisory
Stay ahead of industry trends, competitive movements and emerging technologies. Provide clients with informed forward‑looking guidance that reinforces our strategic value.

Qualification Requirements
Educational Background
A university degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience, vocational training or industry‑recognised certifications in relevant disciplines will also be considered.
Professional Experience
Minimum of 5 years in account management within a comparable industry with technical understanding and appreciation of rotating equipment, pumps, valves and/or bespoke mechanical solutions demonstrating a proven track record of strategic impact, customer success and commercial growth.
