Public Sector Sales Support Specialist (37 hours per week, Permanent). Location: Hybrid working with Durham or Peterborough as base. Salary: Starting at £25,733, plus a discretionary bonus potential of up to 8% of annual salary. Job Level: D. Reporting to: Public Sector Growth & Retention Manager. The role in a nutshell The Public Sector Sales Support Specialist role is about supporting the growth and retention of Public Sector customers by assisting with new business development and customer management activities. It’s an entry‑level position into a sales career, offering training and exposure. The role combines sales support, customer service, and administrative responsibilities, with a strong focus on learning public procurement, sales strategy, negotiation, and stakeholder management for future progression.
Typical day
Coordinate with internal teams: Work with the Marketing team to assist in campaign data, the Onboarding team to promote a right first‑time approach for our customer journey and the Pricing team for quotes.
Generate reports: Update dashboards, identify customer renewals, track KPIs, and highlight any discrepancies.
Process improvements: Identify inefficiencies in sales processes and suggest improvements.
Participate in coaching or training sessions for personal development.
Qualifications & Skills
Organisation skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and work streams effectively.
Strong listening and questioning skills for customer interactions and internal coordination.
Comfortable with CRM systems, Office Suite and learning new systems.
