About the Opportunity The organisation has a long-standing reputation for delivering technically demanding structural steel projects throughout the UK. Their design team provides engineering, detailing and project support across:
Rail
Bridges
Commercial & Industrial
Nuclear
Residential
Large-scale Infrastructure
Only candidates with genuine experience in heavy structural steel within these sectors will be considered.
Key Responsibilities Senior Structural Design Engineers can expect to be involved in:
Structural steel frame design, member design and connection design.
Producing both manual and software-based engineering calculations.
Working with industry‑recognised software including Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Portal Designer, Masterseries, S‑Frame, Idea Statica and cold‑rolled design software.
Liaising with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors and internal teams.
Raising and resolving technical queries.
Working within project budgets and adhering to internal QA procedures.
Attending and contributing to project meetings.
Supporting and mentoring graduate engineers as required.
Qualifications & Experience To be considered, candidates should have:
Minimum 10 years' experience in structural steelwork design.
Strong knowledge of British Standards and Eurocodes.
Previous experience working with a UK‑based steelwork fabricator.
A relevant degree in engineering (ideally working toward Incorporated or Chartered status).
