About the Sales Advisor PositionThe Sales Representative role is the first of its kind in the business. The role is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities through research, customer contact and relationship building. This is an office‑based role based in Leeds, communicating with customers within manufacturing and construction sectors with a view to winning new business and building long‑term, trusting relationships. The position can be fulfilled on a part‑time or full‑time basis, with hours to suit the successful candidate. The role will initially be offered as a six‑month Fixed Term Contract, with the potential to be extended or made Permanent.
Responsibilities
Identifying and generating leads for new business opportunities by conducting research, leveraging existing networks, building new connections and using industry publications and other sources.
Being responsible for the initial outreach to potential new customers including first‑stage introductory phone calls.
Following up on leads with a persistent, professional, friendly approach over the phone and e‑mail, developing an understanding of the specific operational requirements of different customers.
Regular interaction with businesses across manufacturing and construction sectors to promote TEP’s machinery movement expertise and services.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with potential and existing business customers, which can include manufacturers, construction companies and contractors.
Using LinkedIn and other online platforms for customer identification and outreach, developing new strategies for engaging with customers.
Building trusting relationships with customers, helping TEP to be seen as their machinery movement partner of choice for current or future projects by demonstrating the benefits of working with TEP.
Bringing ideas and developing new methods of attracting customer interest and engagement.
Staying up‑to‑date on industry trends and competitors’ offerings to provide the most relevant information to clients.
Required Skills and Experience
Able to communicate confidently and effectively with customers from a variety of industries.
Previous experience in an office‑based role within either engineering, manufacturing or construction industries would be an advantage.
Familiar with using social media / online platforms including LinkedIn.
Competent with IT systems including Microsoft Office software.
Able to use information and data in a commercially practical way.
A vibrant and outgoing personal communication style with strong commercial acumen and the ability to learn and take on board feedback.
