Job Title QA Receiving Inspector
Location Leeds, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom
About the Role As part of the Quality Team, the Receiving Inspector will be responsible for conducting technical quality assurance inspections to ensure all products meet their drawing and/or procedural requirements. The role also supports quality escalations and continuous improvement activities, and participates in quality system processes across the site.
Responsibilities
Conduct Technical Quality assurance inspections
Identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement within Receiving Inspection
Participate and Lead Kaizen activities
Support Quality System activities within RI and across the site
Ensure that all relevant Quality Data is recorded, reported and actioned in an efficient manner
Identify and carry out required Quality training
Ensure area complies with GMP, ISO and QS requirements
Ensure effective and timely communications both oral and written (e.g., weekly/monthly written reports)
Represent the Quality Function as required
Maintain a good standard of housekeeping to meet GMP requirements
Manage appropriate metrics to drive performance and efficiency in the area
Communicate business‑related issues or opportunities to next management level
For those who supervise or manage staff, ensure subordinates follow all company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that required resources are available and in good condition, if applicable
Ensure personal and company compliance with all federal, state, local and company regulations, policies and procedures
Perform other duties assigned as needed
Qualifications / Requirements
Secondary School Education to GCSE or equivalent
Familiarity with various Inspection Techniques
Working knowledge of Quality Systems (FDA/ISO) within a regulated environment
Manufacturing/Engineering knowledge and experience in a comparable industry where hygiene control/quality control is desired
Mechanical aptitude and basic numerical ability
Ability to interpret engineering drawings/specifications (GD&T)
Attention to detail
Quality orientation
Good communication skills (written & oral)
Ability to enter data on spreadsheet and database applications
Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and the public
Job schedule may require shift or weekend work
