Job Overview Maintain, manage, modify and update the aircraft mission systems to ensure maximum serviceability for operational crews. This entails on‑board and off‑board activities including building, installing and testing mission systems such as cameras, radars and satellite communications, and integrating them with mission computers and software. New mission system design, fabrication and installation is carried out in collaboration with Part‑145 engineers to keep DEA competitive in the ISR arena. This role serves as the electrical/electronics subject matter expert within the Mission Systems team.
Key Responsibilities
Design electrical/electronic aspects of updated mission systems for various aircraft types.
Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, applications, systems‑management tools and cloud infrastructure in a laboratory environment.
Update electronic logs of mission‑system equipment and ensure accurate tracking.
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including remote fixes, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
Execute scheduled maintenance/upgrades on removed mission systems.
Provide Level 2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
Deploy to recover mission systems off‑site under the supervision of B2 Engineers as required.
Work closely with B2 Engineers supporting system installation and ongoing airworthiness of the DEA ISR fleet.
Conduct bench filter testing of systems assets in the Systems Integration Lab (SIL).
Assist with fabrication and installation of new aircraft mission systems from concept to full aircraft release, alongside Software and Part‑145 engineers.
Provide out‑of‑hours mission‑system support on an on‑call rota.
Ensure all maintenance is performed in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
Complete technical training courses as available and in line with the company’s strategy.
Carry out all tasks with the DEA H&S policy paramount in mind.
Complete any other tasks as assigned by the Mission Systems Operations Manager.

Strong IT/CAD software knowledge, including PCB development.
