Base Pay £30,000 – £32,000 per annum.
Working Hours Monday to Friday (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Role Purpose The Business Systems Analyst supports the ongoing operation, administration, and continuous improvement of business systems and platforms after delivery. The role focuses on system stability, configuration, issue analysis, user support, and optimisation, ensuring that platforms continue to meet business needs.
Working closely with Business Analysts, technical teams, and system users, the role acts as a bridge between live systems and evolving business requirements, allowing Business Analysts to focus on change, transformation, and new initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Own day‑to‑day administration and configuration of assigned business systems and platforms.
Act as primary point of contact for system‑related issues, requests, and minor enhancements.
Log, triage, prioritise, and track system incidents, defects, and change requests.
Perform root‑cause analysis of system issues and assess business impact.
Escalate complex defects to technical teams with clear, documented analysis.
Monitor system usage and performance to identify improvement opportunities.
Recommend configuration changes or process adjustments to improve efficiency and user experience.
Support post‑implementation reviews and lessons learned.
Maintain system documentation, configurations, and support guides.
Analyse system behaviour against business processes and documented requirements.
Support creation and maintenance of functional documentation, process maps, user stories and acceptance criteria.
Maintain accurate records in tools such as Jira, Confluence and equivalent systems.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for fixes, enhancements, and upgrades.
Create and execute test cases for system changes.
Validate defect fixes and confirm readiness for release.
Work closely with Business Analysts to translate live system issues into actionable insights.
Liaise with technical teams, vendors and support partners.
Provide guidance and support to system users.
Assist with change adoption through user guidance and knowledge‑sharing sessions.

Skills & Experience
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Experience with e‑learning platforms.
Experience supporting, administering or working closely with business systems or platforms.
Ability to analyse system issues and document causes, impacts, and solutions.
Basic understanding of databases, data structures and system integrations.
Ability to manage multiple issues, priorities and deadlines.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
Willingness to learn business domains and technical systems.
1‑5 years’ experience in a similar role (application support, systems analyst, or BA‑type role).
Experience in Agile, Scrum or Waterfall delivery environments.
Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Service Management tools, Visio, Lucidchart, Notion or similar.
Basic knowledge of SQL, data models or ER diagrams.
Experience supporting live systems, upgrades or post‑go‑live platforms.
Experience in higher education, public sector, healthcare or regulated environments.
Qualifications
Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience in systems support, IT or analysis roles.
Working towards a professional qualification in Business Analysis or Systems Analysis.
