About the role Hargreaves Lansdown is undergoing major transformation and Marketing is central to that change. We’re building a joined‑up, insight‑driven marketing function that delivers measurable impact from powerful brand storytelling and high‑converting content to optimised digital journeys and data‑led performance.
The Paid Social Media Manager at Hargreaves Lansdown is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and optimisation of paid social media campaigns across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and emerging channels. Reporting to the Senior Paid Media Manager, this role plays a critical part in driving brand awareness, engagement, and acquisition through strategic paid social initiatives. The role requires a data‑driven mindset, creative thinking, and a deep understanding of social media advertising best practices.
What you’ll be doing
Developing and executing paid social media strategies aligned with marketing and business objectives.
Providing advice, expertise and influence to internal business areas to deliver the most effective social media strategy.
Managing end‑to‑end campaign setup, targeting, budgeting, and performance tracking.
Collaborating with creative teams to produce compelling ad creatives and messaging.
Monitoring and analysing campaign performance, providing actionable insights and optimisations.
Staying up to date with platform updates, trends, and emerging opportunities in paid social.
Working closely with the Senior Paid Media Manager to align paid social with broader media strategy.
Managing relationships with platform representatives and external partners.
Ensuring campaigns comply with regulatory and brand guidelines.
Understanding of competitor activities - providing insight and recommendations for our own social media campaigns.
Providing coaching, guidance and mentoring to team members and new hires.
About you
Proficiency in paid social platforms (e.g., Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Twitter Ads).
Strong analytical skills and experience with performance reporting tools.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Creative mindset with an eye for engaging content.
Ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Proven experience in managing paid social media campaigns.
Previous experience in Financial Services and regulation.
Strong understanding of digital marketing principles and KPIs.
Experience working in a regulated industry is a plus.
This will be a two‑stage interview process with a task.
This role is based in our Bristol head office (BS1 5HL) and we offer a hybrid working pattern, with a minimum of two days in the office per week.
