About the Role We are looking for a highly competent and motivated Quality Assurance Manager to join our Technical team at the Holly Bank site in Scropton (Derbyshire). The role is essential in maintaining a culture of high quality and product integrity in a fast‑moving, short shelf‑life environment.
Working Hours Monday – Friday 07:30 – 16:30. During seasonal peaks (October – December) shift times are reviewed to accommodate higher production levels.
Responsibilities
Ensure products and processes meet and exceed customer specifications.
Provide day‑to‑day management and continuous development of the QA team.
Maintain the Quality Management System and HACCP manual using internal databases, portals and software such as iAuditor.
Respond to customers’ enquiries and complaints, ensuring effective corrective actions are taken.
Lead internal audits to ensure best practice and audit readiness.
Develop, implement and maintain an effective technical service for the site.
Guide and support production and operational teams, influencing and challenging where needed.
Monitor and ensure animal welfare standards in collaboration with the site FSA veterinary officer.
Qualifications
Leadership skills and experience motivating teams.
Up‑to‑date, working knowledge of food manufacturing legislation, standards and guidance.
Experience within a food production environment alongside quality assurance and auditing.
Understanding of environmental issues and potential impacts.
Internal auditing qualifications and advanced food hygiene and HACCP qualifications are beneficial.
Knowledge of and experience working with major retailers would be advantageous.
