About The Role
The Financial Data Analyst position offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of financial transformation within a leading manufacturing organization. Based in Milton Keynes, this role is designed for a highly skilled professional with a passion for data analysis, automation, and financial planning. You will be instrumental in streamlining reporting processes, developing automated solutions, and providing actionable insights to senior management. Collaborating closely with Finance, FP&A, and operational teams, you will translate complex business requirements into innovative analytical tools and dashboards. This role requires a proactive mindset, strong technical skills, and the ability to communicate complex data insights effectively to stakeholders at all levels. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical proficiency and financial expertise. A recognised accountancy qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or ACA is preferred. You should have proven experience in business intelligence, financial analysis, and data automation. Strong technical skills are essential, including proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and advanced Excel functions, including VBA. Experience with Python or R is advantageous. Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP, as well as SAC and ETL processes, will be highly regarded. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders. A collaborative approach, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude are key attributes for success in this role. Responsibilities
Automate and enhance financial reporting and planning processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. Identify manual workflows and design automated solutions using Power BI, SQL, and Excel VBA. Consolidate data from ERP systems, spreadsheets, and operational databases into structured datasets for analysis. Develop dynamic dashboards and reports that provide real‑time visibility into financial and operational metrics. Support forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis through data‑driven insights. Collaborate with FP&A and operational teams to understand business needs and translate them into analytical solutions. Identify opportunities for cost optimisation, revenue enhancement, and strategic improvements. Ensure data integrity and consistency across all financial datasets. Present findings and insights effectively to senior management and stakeholders. Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in data analysis and financial automation. Benefits
