BI Developer – Power BI / SQL / Data Modelling - Nottingham (2 days per month on-site) – £65,000 + benefits We’re looking for an experienced Senior BI Developer to join our growing data team and take ownership of our business intelligence landscape. This is a pivotal role where you’ll analyse current data structures, define future-state roadmaps, design robust data solutions, and deliver high-quality reporting to drive strategic decision-making across the organisation.
You’ll play a key part in shaping how we manage and visualise data—working across data modelling, warehousing, and reporting to build a modern, insightful BI environment.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse existing data sources, reporting processes, and BI systems to identify improvements and opportunities.
Develop and implement end-to-end BI solutions using Power BI, including dashboards, data models, and automated reporting.
Design and maintain scalable data models, data warehouses, and ETL pipelines to support enterprise-wide analytics.
Produce accurate and insightful financial data reporting for senior stakeholders.
Create BI roadmaps, solution designs, and documentation to guide future data strategy.
Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformations.
Build and support reports using SSRS and other reporting tools.
Collaborate with analysts, finance teams, and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver high-value insights.
Skills & Experience Required
Strong experience as a BI Developer or Senior BI Developer.
Advanced proficiency with Power BI (data modelling, DAX, Power Query).
Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
Solid understanding of data warehousing, data modelling, and data design principles.
Experience delivering financial reporting and working with complex datasets.
Hands‑on experience with SSRS.
Ability to define BI roadmaps, produce solution designs, and lead BI improvements.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
