About The Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Data Analyst to join our team on a permanent basis. Based on the outskirts of Cardiff, this role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their career in data analytics within the financial services sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting pension data management, project execution, and ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory standards. This position involves working closely with internal teams to ensure accurate data processing, timely project delivery, and effective communication across departments. The role offers a starting salary of £24,600, which will increase to £26,300 in May 2026, along with a comprehensive benefits package and hybrid working arrangements.
Qualifications
Minimum A-level education or equivalent, preferably with a background in Maths or STEM subjects.
Pensions-specific qualifications such as PMI or QPA are advantageous but not mandatory.
Strong numerical aptitude.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of confidentiality.
Familiarity with Excel and data management tools.
Good planning and organizational skills, proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn.
Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Adherence to compliance and data security policies.
Responsibilities
Assisting with pensions data transitions, ensuring accurate and timely recording of membership and scheme information in line with client agreements.
Identifying potential data issues and collaborating with the wider team to implement effective solutions.
Supporting the loading of data into the P3 administration system after thorough checks by senior team members.
Contributing to the creation and management of both ad hoc and annual pension administration projects, such as pension increases, benefit statements, and GMP reconciliation.
Ensuring all data tasks and projects are completed within deadlines and meet quality standards, liaising with internal teams as necessary.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legislative and technical changes affecting pension calculations and workflows.
Assisting in the standardization of information delivery to employers and members, updating documentation where appropriate.
Adhering to data protection, compliance, health and safety, and quality management policies.
Supporting the implementation of process improvements and participating in business audits to mitigate risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
Benefits This role provides an excellent entry point into the field of Data Analytics within the financial services industry. The starting salary of £24,600 per annum will increase to £26,300 in May 2026, complemented by a benefits package including 24 days of annual leave plus bank holidays. The standard working week is 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday, with hybrid working arrangements available after the probation period. During the initial training phase, the role is fully office-based, with the expectation of being in the office 2-3 days per week thereafter. The position is located on the outskirts of Cardiff, and owning a vehicle is recommended due to location considerations. Additionally, successful candidates will be required to pass a credit check and DBS check as part of the onboarding process.
