Our bustling logistics hub in Boston, Massachusetts, is seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods within our facility. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for operating various types of machinery to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count inventory. Your tasks will include loading and unloading trucks, receiving and processing incoming materials, and preparing outgoing shipments. A strong emphasis is placed on adherence to all Safety regulations, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe operation of equipment. This position requires significant physical exertion, including the ability to perform heavy Lifting of up to 60 pounds and prolonged periods of standing, walking, and bending. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing freight.
- Receive, identify, and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick, pack, and stage orders accurately for shipment.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with stock management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Strictly follow all Safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth workflow.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned to support the Logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Certification and experience operating forklifts and other relevant machinery.
- Must be able to handle heavy Lifting (up to 60 lbs) regularly.
- Knowledge of warehouse inventory systems and procedures.
- Dedicated to workplace Safety and proper use of PPE.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of basic Logistics principles is beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
