We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our distribution center in Durham, North Carolina. This role is fundamental to our logistics process, ensuring that materials are moved, sorted, and organized efficiently. The Material Handler will be responsible for handling a variety of goods, from receiving inbound products to preparing them for outbound shipment. This position requires physical stamina and a keen eye for detail, along with a strong commitment to workplace safety. You'll be working closely with our warehouse team to maintain inventory accuracy and contribute to a smooth operational flow. Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and move materials within the warehouse using appropriate equipment.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Sort and organize materials according to established procedures and locations.
- Transport materials to designated workstations or storage areas.
- Operate manual and powered equipment safely, following all guidelines.
- Conduct regular checks on equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
- Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental goals and improve overall logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with material handling equipment (pallet jacks, dollies, etc.).
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a good work ethic.
- Willingness to wear necessary PPE, such as gloves and safety shoes.
- Basic understanding of logistics and supply chain principles is beneficial.
