We have an exciting opportunity for a Forklift Operator in Des Moines, Iowa. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth flow of materials within our busy warehouse. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts to load, unload, and move products, contributing directly to our efficient logistics chain. Safety is our top priority, and you will be expected to adhere strictly to all safety protocols and maintain your equipment diligently. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, excellent spatial awareness, and the ability to work safely in a dynamic environment. You will collaborate with other warehouse team members to meet operational goals. Responsibilities also include performing general warehouse duties as needed and maintaining accurate records of inventory movements. We provide all necessary PPE and expect its consistent use. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent communication skills. This role involves significant physical activity, including frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload trailers and containers.
- Transport inventory between different warehouse zones.
- Perform pre-shift inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as required.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures.
- Ensure proper use of PPE for all tasks.
- Contribute to inventory accuracy and control.
Qualifications:
- Certified Forklift Operator with proven experience.
- Familiarity with warehouse logistics and safety standards.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) safely.
- Strong focus on safety and adherence to procedures.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Punctuality and reliability are essential.
