We are seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Kansas City, Missouri. In this role, you will be the final checkpoint for outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, proper packaging, and timely dispatch. Your responsibilities will include verifying order details against shipped items, generating shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining detailed shipping records. You will play a crucial part in our supply chain operations, ensuring that our customers receive their orders correctly and on schedule. This position requires excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with shipping software and a strong understanding of warehouse procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, verify, and record incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Accurately pick and pack orders according to specifications.
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading and packing slips.
- Operate shipping software to create labels and track shipments.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL) for pick-ups and deliveries.
- Ensure all shipments are properly packaged and protected for transit.
- Maintain an organized and clean shipping area.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related warehouse role preferred.
- Proficiency in shipping software and basic computer skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the proper use of PPE.
- Understanding of inventory management principles.
